Technifex Adds Fire, Water & Light to Spotlight 29 Casino
Special Effects Enhance New California Indian Casino

March 2002

Technifex created the special effects which add drama and excitement to the Spotlight 29 expansion. Owned by the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians of Coachella, California.
Technifex used a proprietary special effects technology called FauxFire® to create a 60-foot wall of fire inside the casino. This clever technique creates realistic flames using a combination of high-pressure steam and specialty lighting. A computer control system varies the flame's height and intensity throughout the day to add realism to the effect.

"FauxFire® is the ideal solution for situations where the client wants the look of real fire, but doesn't want to deal with the maintenance and safety issues that come with it," explained Technifex Chairman Rock Hall. "We originally developed FauxFire for Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the UK over a year ago and it's been running continually 18 hours a day with minimal maintenance. Visitors are amazed to find out that it isn't the real thing."

Technifex also produced the six-foot diameter column of water that plummets over 25 feet into a pool below.
